Sales surge at ACS

13 November 2012

Spanish contractor ACS has reported a +56.3% increase in sales for the third quarter of 2012, to achieve €28.4 billion.

International activity for the group accounted for €23.5 billion and now represents 82.6% of the total.
Recurrent net profit accounted for €566 million, a drop of -17.1%, which ACS contributed to lower levels of activity in the construction sector.

The firm reported a total backlog in September 2012 of €66.8 billion, up +7.5% on the year previous. International work in the backlog now represents 82.9% of the total.

The sales volume, backlog and operating results were the highest ever reported by the group in September.

ACS continues to focus on its international reach. By geographic area, sales in Asia Pacific represent 40% of the total, while Europe and America represent almost 30% each.

Meanwhile, Germany-based Hochtief reported a return to positive net results in September 2012, with a year to date profit of €92 million.
