Revenues rise at Vinci

25 April 2014

Contractor Vinci has reported first quarter revenues of €8.62 billion, up 2.4% compared to the same three months in 2013, fuelled by modest growth from its contracting business and stronger growth in concessions.

Concessions revenues amounted to €1.31 billion, up 11.3% year-on-year, while contracting revenues totalled €7.31 billion, a 1.1% increase.

Vinci Construction, which is part of the contracting division, reported a 2.5% drop in revenues to €3.68 billion for the first quarter, while revenues for Vinci Energies – also part of the contracting division – were up 0.6% year-on-year at €2.13 billion.

Revenues for the division’s roadbuilding business, Eurovia, were up 11.8% to €1.5 billion. Eurovia benefited from favourable weather conditions in Europe, according to Vinci.

Total contracting and concessions revenues generated in France stood at €5.5 billion, up 3% compared to the first three months of 2013. International revenues amounted to €3.12 billion, representing growth of 1.3% against last year.

Vinci’s total order book stood at €30.7 billion at the end of the quarter, up 0.2% against the same point last year.

The company said it expected positive trends to continue in its concessions businesses for the rest of the year, while contracting activity was forecast to remain stable. It added that overall revenues for the full year were expected to be around the same as 2013.
