Lane, the US subsidiary of Italy’s Webuild Group, has won a contract worth $299 million to build the Seminole Expresway/SR 417 project in Florida.

The contract involves designing and building expansion works for a section of the Seminole Expressway/SR 417 state road in Seminole County in Florida.

It will be widened from four lanes to 8 lanes along a 6-mile stretch from the Orange County border up to north of the SR 434.

Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise (Florida Department of Transportation) commissioned the project to ease traffic flow and increase road safety. The widened road will also serve as an evacuation route during emergencies and is part of the eastern ring road of Orlando.

Work is expected to start this autumn, with the aim of completing it by spring 2029.
