ICP introduces Lonking machines to North America

Wheeled loaders and forklifts from Chinese construction equipment manufacturer Lonking are to be sold and supported in North America, Central America and Mexico through an online direct marketplace known as International Construction Products (ICP).

ICP used the ConExpo-Con/Agg construction equipment exhibition in Las Vegas, US, to announce the deal. It will initially offer 19 models of Lonking equipment for sale, supported by ICP’s service network.

Lonking executive director, CEO and president Qiu Debo said, “We have been preparing for many years to enter the North American market, but distribution has been the issue. Though ICP is a young company, they have been very professional and have and experienced executive team.”

Wes Lee, CEO of ICP, said, “Lonking is an experienced and accomplished manufacturer. It understands that being a global player in Western markets requires local expertise. ICP will sell Lonking machines with our leading service and support, run by an experienced American team. Our partnership will be very good for equipment buyers.”

He added that the company was forecasting sales of up to 300 Lonking machines in 2014.

ICP’s business model brings equipment from emerging Asian brands to Western markets, with added services such as a three-year warranty, 48-hour parts guarantee and a network that lets customers choose their local dealer.

Four Lonking excavator models with operating weights from 6 to 22 tonnes will be available to begin with, together with three wheeled loader models bucket capacities from 2.3m³ to 3.5m³ and nine models of forklifts.

All ICP earthmoving machines are also fitted with three years of free GPS telematics service provided by Navman Wireless.
