German company MaxSolar secures $460 million to build new solar power plants

German company MaxSolar has secured €410 million (US$460 million) in financing to build new solar energy plants.

The company said it would build plants capable of generating 2GW of energy within the next five years.

The first tranche of the financing is worth €165 million ($185.5 million) and can be extended with a second tranche of €245 million ($275.5 million).

The company said it would build photovoltaic plants and energy storage systems with a capacity of 2GW. It has a total project pipeline of 6.5GW.

It also plans to use the financing to attract new recruits in five locations across Germany.
