GEDA transport platform assists construction crews in Ireland

During a residential project outside of Dublin, the GEDA 1200 Z/ZP safely transported workers, materials on the jobsite

Crews building a housing development in the coastal town of Dalkey, Ireland – about 9 miles (15km) southeast of Dublin – utilized a GEDA 1200 Z/ZP transport platform to move materials and workers safely and quickly on the construction site.

Irish rental company Mantis Cranes LTD determined the GEDA 1200 Z/ZP was the “optimal device” for the project after a site inspection and installed the platform in an underground parking lot on the jobsite, where it could access all five floors of the building through an opening at ground level.

The 1.4-meter-by-2-meter platform, which has a load capacity of 1500kg, was able to transport up to seven people, in addition to materials such as plasterboard and roof slates.

The building of one- and two-bedroom apartments is situated near the coast of the Irish Sea and has views of Dalkey Island.

Current high demand for housing in Ireland meant the timing of the construction had to be quick, and the project was finished with the GEDA transport platform in about seven months, the company said.
