Friday round-up: Flurry of acquisitions | $12bn project kicks off | Cat legal battle

As April draws to a close, there has been a flurry of acquisitions in the construction sector around the world.

In the past week alone, Construction Briefing has reported on three such deals and there has been a common thread running through each of them: the energy transition.

Meanwhile, North America continues to shine as a bright spot for major, multi-billion-dollar infrastructure projects.

In the past week, we learned not only that the $12bn Brightline West high-speed railway project has broken ground, but also that two engineering firms have been appointed on the US$3bn Île d’Orléans Bridge in Canada.

Finally, there was news of a court battle involving Caterpillar that has seen a jury conclude that it owes $100m to an importer. Read more here.
