Edinburgh hospital approved

17 February 2015

Infrastructure and property group Brookfield Multiplex has been appointed to lead a consortium building a new multi-purpose £150 million (€202 million) healthcare facility in Edinburgh, UK.

The project, which has been approved by the Scottish Government, will bring together services from the Royal Hospital for Sick Children, Department for Clinical Neurosciences, and Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service at the Little France site.

The six-storey building, which will be managed by Bouygues, is to feature an atrium design and skylight linking both hospital entrances. There will also be a rooftop helipad.

Construction is due to start shortly on the building, which will join on to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. It is scheduled to open in 2017.
