Video: You’ll never work alone

No sooner had the Liverpool FC players left the pitch at the end of the UK’s Premier League football season, than the cranes took to the field to begin the expansion of the iconic Anfield Road stadium.

Timelapse video footage shows how much work has already been done to ensure the home of Liverpool FC is capable of holding some 61,000 fans when games resume in August.

Around 5,200 general admission seats are being added, plus 1,800 more with access to sports bar lounge and hospitality facilities.

When the €100 million upgrade of the stadium is complete, the stadium will be one of the largest in the Premier League.

Although it usually takes just 22 players, Liverpool says it required 75 construction workers, plus four cranes of up to 600 tonnes capacity, to raise the stadium roof.
