Spanish Thermosolar projects delayed

The larger than expected number of requests for Spanish government subsidies for thermosolar projects in the country has forced the Industry Ministry to delay any announcement about winning bids.

An Industry Ministry spokesperson told CE, "We have received many requests for the installation of projects and the large number of requests means we need more administrative time to process applications.

"We hope the whole matter is resolved by the end of this September or early October."

The Spanish government has said it will subsidise up to 500 megawatts of thermosolar power per year.
