26 January 2021

Rental company Ramirent, a Loxam subsidiary, has been selected as a subcontractor for a major housing project Løren Botaniske in Oslo.

This will be one of Ramirent’s largest projects in Eastern Norway; Ramirent will deliver 21,000 sqm of scaffolding for the scheme, as well as lifts, building heating, rigs, machines, and other equipment.

Norwegian construction company Veidekke is the turnkey contractor for the project, which will comprise a total of 390 homes. It will be divided into several construction stages, with completion estimated for 2024. The project is BREEAM-certified for sustainability performance and will be carried out as a fossil-free construction site.

The first construction phase comprising 67 apartments started in November last year and will be completed in the autumn of 2022. The agreement between Ramirent and Veidekke is for the full construction schedule up to and including the last phase in 2024.

“We are very proud to be chosen as a supplier on this project where sustainability is so high on the agenda,” said Ramirent Norway Sales and Marketing Director Amund Havig. “Veidekke places high demands on us in this project, and we like that. Ramirent will assist with good fossil-free solutions and high quality delivery.”

“We see the assignment in connection with the Løren Botanical project as a confirmation that we have succeeded in our commitment to fast delivery and good service and follow-up, added Jarle Pettersen, Ramirent Norway sales representative for large customers.”

Veidekke Project Manager Eirik Birkeland said, “The reason why we chose Ramirent is about a total package that consists of quality of equipment and not least quality of service and follow-up. Ramirent also has equipment and services that satisfy our requirements with regard to BREEAM certification and fossil-free construction sites.”
