Poland invests in road network

Poland is expected to announce up to 50 tenders for road works worth more than €8 billion throughout 2013.

The country’s Council of Ministers recently adopted the Ministry of Transport’s amendment to the National Road Construction Programme for 2011-2015, which is currently being implemented.

As a result, contracts for the construction of 700km of expressways with a value of PLN35.73bn (€8.39 billion) will be awarded.

The amended National Road Construction Programme will see work carried out on seven highways in 2014-2020, covering the length and breadth of the country.

These are:

S3 Sulechow-Legnica, Legnica-Lubawka

S5 Wroclaw-Bydgoszcz, sections Poznan-Wronczyn, Radomicko-Kaczkowo, Korzensko-Wroclaw, Gniezno-Mielno

S7 Warsaw-Gdansk, sections Olsztynek-Milomlyn, Nidzica-Napierki, Warsaw-Rabka, sections Radom-Skarzysko Kamienna including Radom bypass, Checiny-Swietokrzyskie voivodship border, Igolomska-Christo Botewa, Lubien-Rabka;

S8 Radziejowice-Bialystok, sections Radziejowice-Paszkow, Mazowieckie voivodship border-Zambrow, Wisniewo-Jezewo

S17 Warsaw-Lublin, section Zakret junction-Kurow

S19 Lublin-Rzeszow, section Lublin bypass, Sokolow Malopolski Polnoc junction-Stobierna, Swilcza junction-Rzeszow Poludnie junction

S51 Olsztyn-Olsztynek.
