New airport approach roads built

18 March 2008

A Bomag Bm 1000/30 cold milling machine was used to remove a total of 1300 m2 of car parking space to make way for approach roads to new terminals at Berlin's Tegel airport. The asphalt pavement, including the underlying concrete and sand layers, had to be removed to a depth of 300 mm, and manhole covers, curbs and existing trees had to remain undamaged.

"The extraordinary performance and great manoeuvrability of the BM 1000/30 made the decision easy for us," said Wolfgang Rubert, managing director of sub-contractor, STG.
