By Sarah Ann McCay15 November 2012

Spanish contractor Acciona posted mixed results for the third quarter of 2012, with net profit down 63.7% year-on-year to €114 million while group revenues grew 7.7% to €5.1 billion.

Group EBITDA for the first nine months hit €1 billion, an increase of 11.4%. Acciona attributed this gain to growth in its energy division, driven by the addition of 209MW of new capacity in the previous 12 months. Acciona Energy also saw revenues jump 35% to €1.6 billion.

During the first nine months of 2012 Acciona Energy installed 182MW, including 132MW wind and 50MW solar thermal/CSP. As at the end of September 2012 installed capacity totalled 8,394MW.

Revenues from Acciona Infrastructure declined 3.9% to €2.4 billion. EBITDA amounted to €123 million. At 30 September 2012 the construction backlog totalled €7,2 billion, an increase of 12% compared to the same period in 2011.
