Liugong in Texas dealership agreement

By Helen Wright17 May 2012

Chinese equipment manufacturer Liugong has signed a dealership agreement with Texada Software's subsidiary Noble Equipment to distribute its products in Texas, US.

The agreement provides Noble with exclusive Texas distribution rights for Liugong equipment, including wheeled loaders, excavators, motor graders, compaction equipment and bulldozers. Noble will also service Liugong products and provide Liugong attachments and parts.

Texada said it would buy a minimum of 20 Liugong units over the next 12 months. The machines will be added to Noble's rental fleet, as well as made available for sale.

Texada CEO Willie Swisher said, "This new exclusive agreement with a top-20 global manufacturer such as Liugong is very exciting for the company and will allow us to accelerate and deploy our business model in one of the strongest markets in the US." He added that he expected the business to be launched this summer.

Nabil Kassam, executive chairman of Texada, added, "Our view is that in the near future, the equipment industry will experience a convergence of rental and sales channels, fuelled by integrated technologies that drive efficiencies and smarter decision making for manufacturers, equipment providers and end-customers. Texada's partnership with Liugong represents a defining moment, not only for our two companies, but for the industry."

Following the launch of its Liugong dealership, Texada Software now operates three business segments - equipment rental, equipment dealership and enterprise asset management software.

The news comes after Liugong said it planned to start manufacturing Stage IIIB-compliant excavators in Europe this year.
