Trimble's SCS900 site Controller Software Tablet Edition uses its site positioning total station or GPS technology to simplify construction operations, increase efficiency in the field, and minimise downtime, according to the company.

The SCS900 Tablet Edition combines the SCS900 data management system with the graphics capabilities and processing power of a tablet PC, and extends the use of Trimble site positioning systems to construction site staff coordinating activities from a vehicle.

Benefits of using the software, said are a company spokesman, include viewing, reviewing and editing designs from a vehicle, access to the same digital design data the site crews are using, a real-time cut and fill display, tools for side slope staking, computing volumes, and grade checking, and simple and easy daily setup of the base station.
