Doosan Infracore Europe has expanded its range of tracked excavators with the addition of a new model in the 25-tonne range.

The Doosan DX245NHD-7 excavator is fitted with a 131kW Doosan DL06V diesel engine and offers a digging depth of 6.59 metres and a maximum reach of 9.71 metres.

Stephane Dieu, Excavator Product Specialist at Doosan, said, “The DX245NHD-7 adds a new highly sturdy option in the medium-sized range of crawler excavators from Doosan.

“With regard to the name of the machine, the ‘N’ stands for ‘Narrow Track’ and the ‘HD’ stands for ‘Heavy Duty’ illustrating its suitability for the most challenging applications. Complementing this, the ‘narrow’ design of the DX245NHD-7 offers the further advantage of a transportation width of only 2.54m.”

To withstand heavy duty applications the excavator’s components, including the chains, rollers, sprocket and the chassis, are those that have been designed for a 30-tonne class undercarriage.

Doosan said these are “oversized to increase the working lifetime of the machine, even on the toughest jobs.”

The 25.1-tonne model, which provides operators with four power modes, also includes new technologies such as the manufacturer’s SPC3 Smart Power Controls and a new hydraulic main valve, which help to increase fuel efficiency.

Additionally, the DX245NHD-7 excavator has been equipped with a 5-tonne counterweight as standard, allowing the machine can work with heavy attachments such as tiltrotators.

Doosan said, “The heavier counterweight also contributes to the higher lifting and digging capacities of the DX245NHD-7. The DX245NHD-7 also incorporates as standard a new lifting eye that forms part of the casting for the push link for the bucket attachment at the end of the arm.”

While the exterior of the cab is fitted with eight LED work lights, the inside of the cab features a range of technologies designed for operator comfort and easy machine operation.

These include a new seat, ergonomically designed controls, Doosan’s 8-inch Smart Touch display screen and the Doosan Smart Key start system, which also allows remote door locking and unlocking.
