New From Extec is the X38 SBS mobile cone crusher, a smaller sibling to its X44 SBS, launched last year. Like the larger machine, the X38 SBS features a cone crusher supplied by Telsmith. The 38SBS can be set to produce products from 100 to 38 mm, and the maximum throughput (at the coarsest setting) is 261 tonnes per hour. Power comes from a Caterpillar C-9 diesel engine rated at 261 kW.

The X38, like the X44, comes with an optional re-circulation system to ensure that the end products are consistent. The use of a recirculation system, together with a metal detector in the feed hopper, ensures that crushing efficiency is maximised without the need for further crushing stages, while the intelligent machine control enables the combination of up to seven Extec machines in one operation.
