Alpine machines go to auction

More than 5,000 items of construction machinery are being auctioned as part of the next stage of the insolvency process for contractor Alpine Bau.

Alpine Bau, which was the second largest contractor in Austria, went into voluntary insolvency in the Austrian courts in June, blaming both delays in the divestments planned by the company and the steady deterioration in the trading situation since the first quarter of 2012.

From today, Karner & Dechow, the biggest private auction house for insolvencies in Austria, will be running the online auction of machinery and equipment from Alpine construction on behalf of the liquidator Dr Stephan Riel, with more than 5,000 items of construction machinery and equipment to be auctioned over the next few weeks.

Karner & Dechow managing partner Herbert Karner said the items ranged from equipment for private use – such as drills and angle grinders – to construction machinery for structural work, civil engineering and road construction – such as scaffolds, compressors, excavators and cranes.

“All items are in an extraordinarily fine condition,” he added.

All the equipment can be previewed and are stored at four Alpine building yards in Austria.

At the same time, the auction of more than 250 Alpine vehicles is starting. In the course of the on-going motor vehicle auctions held by Karner & Dechow, the Alpine vehicles will also come under the hammer in several stages.
