Waste expansion

20 March 2008

Formed 15 years ago as a “One-Man-Band” A.A. Langlois Plant Hire, Jersey, UK now employs 32 permanent and four part time staff. Key to its expansion, according to managing director Alan Langlois, has been the ability to create marketable products from C&D waste materials.

With the need for recycling intensifying and demand steadily rising throughout Jersey, Langlois has purchased four Extec machines – an E-7 screen, C-10 crusher and two S-3 screens.

Mr Langlois told CE the E-7 screen allows the company to separate heavy overburden, clay and sticky materials. The use of a variety of punch plates, fingers, bars and meshes, which can be easily changed, has also increased flexibility – an integrated impact bed in the rear conveyor means the heaviest materials can also be processed safely.

“The C-10 Jaw crusher offers an effective solution to our crushing needs, providing the ability to work in many situations over a wide variety of materials. Due to its compact frame design and full remote hydraulic drive, the C-10 is extremely mobile, making it well suited to operations within a restricted space,” added Mr Langlois.

Elsewhere, the S-3 screen is used in Langlois' aggregates recycling operation. The smallest of Extec's S-Series, the S-3 provides a three-way split capability. While its excellent mobility and compact size make it particularly suitable for urban environments.
