The Italian job

11 April 2008

Proving that roadbuilding equipment can work in a variety of applications is a JCB Vibromax VM115D self-propelled vibratory roller, which is hard at work on a new railway tunnel in the Italian city of Milan.

Main contractor Impresa Edile Caimi Geom Andrea is using the WM115D to construct a tunnel where a new railway line will cross an existing track on the Italian mainline. Completing the 60 km line is expected to take several years, but the tunnel will take about 12 months to complete.
