Sandvik and Terex centralise crushing expertise

01 June 2009

Both Sandvik and Terex Material Processing have established new centres of excellence. Sandvik will move production of its heavy mobile equipment from Sweden to its facilities in Swadlincote, UK and in so doing unify its mobile crushing and screening range under a single brand.

The unification will see Sandvik drop the Extec and Fintec names - both acquired by the Swedish manufacturer in 2007 - and all new equipment will boast a single colour scheme and uniform serial number.

Terex Material Processing will, over the next 18 months, consolidate its manufacturing facilities in Northern Ireland. Terex Finlay screens and Powerscreen products will both be produced in Dungannon, while Terex Finlay and Terex Pegson crushing equipment will be manufactured in Omagh. The Coalville facility in England will continue to house the Terex global chamber design centre, but all production will be based in Northern Ireland.
