Mantle put to test

01 June 2009

AB Krossekonomi, a Swedish family run crushing business producing 5 million tonnes of aggregate a year for asphalt, concrete and road construction, is trialing Sandvik's new Flexifeed cone crusher.

"When Sandvik showed us a drawing of the new mantle last year, I immediately knew this was a concept that we needed to try," said Anders Mickelsson, production manager.

"Since installing the Flexifeed primary crusher six months ago we have increased production by approximately +10% and the mantle lifespan by about +25%," said Mr Mickelsson.

AB Krossekonomi operator, Robert Farm said, "We've attained maximum production from day one right through to the point where the mantles are completely worn out. The trial period was 1500 hours, but we've surpassed that already and as far as we're concerned the Flexifeed is here to stay."

The Flexifeed mantle will be available throughout Sandvik's global distribution network this year.
