Kubota upgrades micro excavators

Kubota has launched its newly-upgraded K008-5 and U10-5 micro excavator models for Europe.

The Kubota K008-5 micro excavator The new Stage V compliant K00-8 and U10-5 micro excavators are now available in Europe.

With a redesigned exterior and zero tail swing, the two Stage V models are the successors to the company’s K008-3, U10-3 and U10-3SL micro excavators.

Unlike the company’s previous models, the 0.9 tonne K008-5 and 1 tonne machines are equipped with Kubota’s Stage V D722 diesel engine.

The model incorporates Kubota’s Three Vortex Combustion System, which lowers exhaust and noise emissions for jobs in urban areas.

While the K008-5 has a maximum dig depth of 1.7 metres, the U10-5 can dig to a depth of 1.8 metres and has also been fitted with a side lever joystick and hydraulic servo controls for smoother operation.

Designed with adjustable tracks for easy transport, each measure less than 1.0 metre wide and have transport heights of under 3.0 metres.

Glen Hampson, construction division manager at Kubota, said, “The new K008-5 and U10-5 models are the culmination of years of ongoing product development and investment with the aim of improving the design and performance of some of the most popular micro excavators available on the market.

“The new machines bring innovations first seen in our largest excavators to this smaller form factor, so that Kubota can offer users unrivalled safety, reliability and performance, without having to compromise on weight and size.”

Other key features for renters include a more durable seat, a fully opening engine cover, a battery isolator and protected hydraulic services port pipes for easier maintenance.

The K008-5 and U10-5 micro excavators are also equipped with Kubota’s Anti-Theft System, which only allows the machines to start if certain pre-programmed keys are entered during start-up.
