Contractor Market Építő Zrt is using three Geda transport platforms for the construction of the new Mol Group headquarters in Budapest, Hungary.

Mol Group is an international oil and gas company that operates across 30 countries and employs around 26,000 staff members.

Upon completion its new “Mol campus” skyscraper will measure 120m high and feature a 28-storey tower with an integrated podium.

Market Építő, which is said to have carried out over “750 construction projects in the last 25 years”, is using a GEDA 3700 Z/ZP platform to transport heavy and oversized materials up the structure.

With a load capacity of up to 3700 kg, the construction company is primarily using it to transport the large glass panels for the exterior facade of the building.

A GEDA BL 2000 twin passenger and material lift has also been installed on the new structure. The access platform provides a maximum lifting speed of 55m/min and its 3.20m x 1.45m x 2.10m stage can carry up to 2000kg or 23 people.

Geda said, “Due to the version of the GEDA BL 2000 as a twin, floors 1,3,5,7 (odd) on the campus are served by one stage and parallel, independent of the other stage, the 2,4,6,8 floors (even).

“This offers the advantage of continuous transport flow, especially on heavily frequented construction sites. This reduces waiting times and the associated costs. Since the safety of all parties involved is in the foreground, floor door security doors are installed.

Alongside these, Market Építő is also using the GEDA 2 PK rack and pinion hoist.

Installed on the site’s cranes, which were manufactured by Kroll Cranes, the hoists are being used to provide safe access – and emergency egress – for the project’s crane operators. up to a height of 150m.

Designed to be both “high-tech” and environmentally friendly, the upper floors of the new 86,000m2 Mol campus will be used as flexible office space.

The lower floors will accommodate restaurants, a conference centre and “other facilities to ensure the best working atmosphere”.
