04 April 2016

Budimex, a subsidiary of Ferrovial Agroman, has signed a €175 million contract to design and build a bypass around the city of Olsztyn, Poland.

The contract comprises the construction of 14.7km of the S51 highway, south east of the city. Budimex will build two intersections and access roads, while other roads in the area will also be improved.

The work is expected to be completed in 28 months, excluding the winter time.

In March, research company PMR reported that up till 2020, most fast roads in Poland will be built in Mazovia (east) and Pomerania (north west). Olsztyn is situated in the north east of the country.

In the last few months, Budimex has won Polish roadbuilding contracts for two sections of the S7, two sections of the S6, two segments of the S17, and the Kepno bypass on the S11.
